The Association of Pension Trustees of Ireland (APTI) is the only representative body of professional trustees in Ireland. APTI was set up in 2004 to provide a common platform for Pensioneer Trustees in their dealings with Revenue Commissioners and the Pensions Authority and to set common standards for trustees of self-managed pensions. APTI represents the indigenous, non-insured part of the pensions industry. The association comprises many of the industry’s best technical experts and operates to high technical standards. APTI is at the leading edge of many pension developments.
Member firms are primarily engaged with providing trustee, administration, investment or advisory services to single member pension schemes; OPS, PRSA, Buy Out Bond and ARF.
The success of member firms is entirely predicated on the successful outcome for clients and there is healthy competition between firms. APTI members now service 22,000 pension investors, up from 10,000 in 2010. The association represents €7.7 billion of assets under administration or 12% of the Defined Contribution Pensions. APTI attributes the success to high levels of client engagement and the shared ethos of choice for members, transparency of charging and control of investment strategy.
